This story brought us to tears and raised the little hairs on our necks and arms…You know that our friend was ordained a deacon last Saturday. Well…we were so blessed to be able to celebrate with him after the mass at the Cathedral was over. They had a great reception at their subdivision clubhouse. When we were about to leave and get a blessing from him, Deacon Bill told us a miraculous story. When my mom was so ill, you already know he came to the hospital to give her communion. Well, before he came to the hospital one time, he went to our church to get the sacred consecrated host from the tabernacle. He said that he put the host in his pyx and came to the hospital. When he opened the pyx to give mom communion, there were two hosts inside instead of one. He only took ONE host. Yep. ONE. Only one host. The hosts are a bit slick, they do not stick together. I promise. I have been an Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister. They aren’t that thin. So you would know if you took two. You just would. Believe me. He told us the story with tears in his eyes. He said that sometimes people struggle with the teaching of the “REAL PRESENCE of Jesus in the Eucharist.” This incident further helped him believe in that truth! GOD showed him that He is REAL and he is truly present in the Eucharist. The Lord knew that my father had not been to church yet and needed communion. God always provides. ALWAYS. Eucharistic Miracle? Yep. AmAzInG…We received our blessing weeping with joy and awe! And what a privilege it was to have one of his first blessings as a Deacon!
Laugh for the day…You know I love the Nuns! Thanks Gina! 🙂
While shopping in a food store, two nuns happened to pass by the beer cooler. One nun said to the other, “Wouldn’t a nice cold beer or two taste wonderful on a hot summer evening?”
The second nun answered,”Indeed it would sister, but I would not feel comfortable buying beer as I am certain it would cause a scene at the checkout.”
“I can handle that without a problem,” she replied as she picked up a six-pack and headed for the checkout.
The cashier had a surprised look on his face when the two nuns arrived with a six-pack of beer. One of the nuns explained, “We use beer for washing our hair, a shampoo of sort, if you will.”
Without blinking an eye, the cashier reached under the counter, pulled out a package of pretzel sticks and placed them in the bag with the beer. He looked the nun straight in the eye, smiled and said, “The curlers are on the house.”
Happy Feast Day of Our Lady of Lourdes! Our Lady gives special favors through Jesus on her Feast Days…just ask! Our Lady of Lourdes, Pray for us. St. Bernadette, Pray for us!
Monday is St. Valentine’s Day! I have heard it said that Valentine’s Day is a day that the greeting card industry “made up” to make money. Nonsense! Read the history on St. Valentine’s Day here: NEW ADVENT CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA
I hope your day is special, full of love and kisses! If you are single like me, don’t fret. It’s not worth it. Either take the time to thank God you are single (LOL!) or take the time to ask for St. Valentine’s intercession for that special someone. But above all take time to say I love you to those special people in your life!
After months of having nothing on my calendar, all of a sudden my schedule is starting to blow up! Could this be a sign that winter is almost over? Lots of things to do, events, lunches, dinners and trips to look forward to! It starts tomorrow with lunch! Can’t wait to see Deva, Juli and baby Ella! So excited!
You can probably tell I’m struggling with my 7 QTs today…that said, I’m done. I’m having a writer’s cramp! Have a great weekend everyone! And, as always, thank you for reading my blog!
